Kimbee is right (as usual). Get rid of the gravel. Not only does it make the tank harder to clean but it can be dangerous, even lethal, to a turtle. As far as frequency of cleaning, trust your eyes and nose. When the water seems dirty, clean the tank. Don't be in too much of a rush to change the filter material. It has to build up a bacterial culture to be effective and that takes time.

I have met a few people who have stayed at Desire in Cabo.

There wasn't as much nudity as they thought, as well as not as much swinging activities. The people varied, some were older than they expected, some didn't seem to know what the "theme" of the resort was until they got there! All agreed that it would be more fun if they stayed when there were various conventions booked there.

They also have a hard time hiring staff and keeping them. I guess Mexicans are a little more modest and don't agree with this lifestyle.

Overall, it seems pretty laid back and boring. Not swinging from the chandeliers as you might think. I've also heard the food isn't very good, service adequate and rooms moderate.

Some people I've talked to has had incidents where they were nearly robbed, but managed to speed away from them. Some criminals drive up alongside your car and try to make you stop, others try to act like an accident just happened on the road, and rob people who stop to help. Police have all kinds of weird tips they give people. One tourist was told to buy an airsoft gun to scare the robbers off. If the police dont get enough evidence, most cases are dropped.
